Gita’s Super Ground Turkey Chili – by Gita.me
Ingredients
2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
1 lb. Ground Turkey Meat
2-3 Links Jalapeno or Spicy Chorizo Sausage (optional)
1 can Dark Red Kidney Beans (Drained and Washed)
1 can Black Beans (Drained and Washed)
1 Onion chopped
2 large tomatoes
4 Jalepeno Peppers
2 cups water
2 McCormick Chili Spices Packs
2 Tablespoons Cumin Powder
Toppings:
Shredded Mexican 4 Blend Cheese
Fresh cilantro leaves
Fresh Pico di Gallo
Sour Cream
Directions:
- Heat the stove to medium and add oil. Once the oil has heated, add the diced onions and let them sweat.
- Then add the chopped jalapenos. Add the tomatoes and all spices including cumin and let them combine for a few minutes.
- Add the ground turkey and chorizo (optional). Use a little bit of water in case the turkey sticks to all the spices.
- Once the turkey has browned, lower the heat and add the dark red kidney beans and black beans and incorporate evenly with the meat.
- Add the remaining water and cook covered for 30 minutes giving the chili a stir to prevent sticking to the bottom.
- If you like your chili with more liqid, add more water and cook.
- Serve with shredded cheese, fresh cilantro leaves, pico, sour cream or just by it self.
